The result of an extensive survey conducted alongside the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reseaumentorat.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">R\u00e9seau Mentora<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reseaumentorat.com\/en\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">t<\/a>\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/indiceentrepreneurialqc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Indice entrepreneurial qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois<\/a> (Quebec entrepreneurial index) with some 2,000 business owners, the study provides wide-ranging information about the relationship between Quebec entrepreneurs and sustainable development.<\/p><p>The View unveils results about:<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>the level of knowledge about the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/sustainabledevelopment\/sustainable-development-goals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UN\u2019s Sustainable Development Goals<\/a> (SDG)<\/li>\n\n<li>the preferred stage for businesses to integrate sustainable development efforts<\/li>\n\n<li>the level of integration of sustainable factors according to 13 different themes<\/li>\n\n<li>checks on integration<\/li>\n\n<li>drivers of integration<\/li><\/ul><h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-entrepreneurs-level-of-knowledge-about-sdgs-remains-limited\"><strong>Entrepreneurs\u2019 level of knowledge about SDGs remains limited<\/strong><\/h5><p>Our study shows that only one in ten entrepreneurs believes they know about the UN\u2019s Sustainable Development Goals, the framework used by many organizations globally.&nbsp;<\/p><p>When we asked the same question of entrepreneurs from the Quebec entrepreneurial ecosystem, two in 10 entrepreneurs reported knowing about the SDGs.<\/p><h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-women-immigrants-and-youth-stand-out\"><strong>Women, immigrants, and youth stand out<\/strong><\/h5><p>The View shows that women, immigrants, and youth 18 to 34 are more aware of the SDGs.<\/p><p>Specifically, twice as many women as men reported being very familiar with the SDGs (8.7% of women versus 4.6% of men). Immigrants reported being aware of them at a rate of 40.8%, versus people born in Canada at a rate of 18.7%. Youth aged 18 to 34 are aware of them at a rate of 28.7%, compared with around 21% for other age groups.<\/p><p>These same groups told us they integrated sustainable development principles before launching their business.<\/p><h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-human-resources-a-priority-for-entrepreneurs\"><strong>Human resources: a priority for entrepreneurs<\/strong><\/h5><p>With respect to the level of integration of sustainable development, our interest is in 13 themes, broken down into three groups:&nbsp;<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>operations<\/li>\n\n<li>human resources<\/li>\n\n<li>resource and waste management<\/li><\/ul><p>Many more respondents reported that their sustainable development efforts fall mainly under themes from the human resources group.<\/p><h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-do-we-need-to-take-action-nbsp\"><strong>What do we need to take action?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h5><p>Our study shows that one in three entrepreneurs still have not made sustainable development part of their business.
